The global movement for tribal peoples’ rights.

Survival International has been working in partnership with tribal peoples since 1969. We help them defend their lives, protect their lands and determine their own futures.

Survival exists to prevent the annihilation of tribal peoples and to give them a platform to speak to the world – so that it can bear witness to the genocidal violence, slavery and racism they face on a daily basis.

The only organisation that champions tribal peoples around the world, Survival International is politically and financially independent of all government, political, religious or corporation involvement.

Unlike many charities we refuse national government funding and do not take money from corporations that could be violating tribal peoples’ rights.

how they help make a change

  • We investigate, educate, research, campaign, lobby and protest for tribal peoples’ right to their land
  • We amplify tribal voice, giving tribal peoples a platform to speak to the world
  • We fund self-help and medical projects to empower and strengthen tribal communities
  • Publish articles, literature and books about tribal peoples and distribute these across the globe
  • Move public attitudes to being more supportive and understanding of tribal peoples
